FWinterns Events: Round 2

Hey y’all,

Last night was a big night for Falling Whistles – working two events in one night! One of the events was an incredible opportunity with Curve, a boutique that collaborated with Falling Whistles for L.A.’s Fashion’s Night Out.

This was a huge event that raised a lot of awareness for Falling Whistles and our work in Congo, and everyone who was there had a ton of fun. We also officially launched our new campaign – more to come on these incredible new happenings soon!!

The event I went to was a Fashion and Freedom event done with LA Artwalk, where several charities were invited to come in, set-up tables, and connect with the community. It was a great time; I spoke with tons of people about Falling Whistles’ work and met several cool new organizations (the table next to us was LINK – they are awesome! http://www.linkglobal.org/)

After the event Ad and I packed up and made a quick stop at the Food Trucks in Downtown LA before heading over to help cleanup the Curve event.

The verdict: food trucks are awesome. It was a parking lot full of RV-type trucks with any kind of food you could think of. One truck sold ice-cream sandwiches with a “chocolate covered bacon flavor”. Yuck, but very creative.

Los Angeles is proving to be an endlessly exciting city with a lot going on; last Sunday the interns made a daytrip to Santa Monica to enjoy the beach and this weekend we are brainstorming more fun activities to do.

Peace and love,

Meghan
